What are Pressure Washer Hoses used for?

Pressure Washer Hoses

Pressure wash hoses are used in pressure washer systems, which use water under high pressures to remove dirt, mud, and other items from surfaces and objects. Because pressure wash hoses typically only convey water under high pressures, the hoses have to be heavy duty extremely resilient. High pressure hoses are typically mad from three materials: PVC, rubber, and polyurethane.

  • PVC Plastic is the most common material for high pressure hoses. Using PVC to manufacture pressure wash hoses results in hard hoses that are not very flexible but that do get the job done.
  • Rubber hoses are often heavier and more flexible than PVC hoses. However, rubber pressure wash hoses can leave black stains on surfaces if caution is not taken.
  • Polyurethane hoses are composed of a steel-braided hose that is covered with a clear, bendable plastic. Polyurethane hoses are preferred over PVC or rubber hoses because they are as flexible as rubber hoses but do not stain surfaces as rubber hoses can.
